| The Truth about Cars Announces Ten Worst Automobiles for 2007
PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Truth About Cars (TTAC) website has named its Ten Worst Automobiles for 2007. According to TTAC publisher Robert Farago, the second annual award names and shames "the worst of the worst." "From a long and ignoble list of nominees, our readers have chosen ten cars that are less desirable than swordfish ice cream. They're a rolling condemnation of their manufacturers' lack of vision, taste, engineering and marketing." The ten finalists were chosen by the automotive website's 27k+ daily readers via an online poll. TTAC readers submitted 136 vehicles for the Ten Worst Automobiles Award. The site's writers narrowed the nominees down to a short list of 20 vehicles. TTAC then provided an online poll to select the final ten "winners." This year, all ten finalists are either Chrysler or General Motors' products.
CDOT needs to get busy rebuilding I-70
I believe it is time that our Governor and our congressional representatives to work together and step up to the plate to get a real solution to solve the congestion problem on I-70. After reading Colorado Senator Romer's plan, I conclude it is time that the Colorado Transportation Office get serious and get on with the final design for the rebuilding of I-70 west of Denver to Glen Canyon. I've attended numerous public meetings that have proposed five separate solutions to eliminate the problems with weekend travel to and from the ski resorts. I'm sure the the State has spend millions on these studies. At these public meetings, we've been briefed on the re-design of mountain interchanges, the main highway, and the alternatives to either a new tunnel or alternate route over Loveland and Vail Passes.

Charles Stross' dense stories have made him a Singularity sensation
We are, after all, living in a future built on top of other people's dreams. Like Wernher von Braun's, for example. I remember being woken up at some appalling hour of the morning one day, and taken downstairs by my parents, who had the TV (a black and white one) turned on. There was a rather poor, grainy picture on the screen, of a ladder and an indistinct landscape. And then some guy in a big white suit climbed down the ladder and said something indistinct while I was yawning. It was Neil Armstrong on the steps of the Apollo 11 lunar module in 1969, I was five years old, and for about the next two or three years I was sure I was going to be an astronaut when I grew up. When you're convinced you're going to travel to other worlds, science fiction signifies something different to you than the Tales of the Brothers Grimm.
