Victims claim sales staff colluded with syndicate
Buyers bought new cars to lease to the ring, expecting to receive income, not knowing their vehicles would not be leased out at all but become part of a pyramid scheme. Many vehicles were resold in neighbouring countries. More than 400 car buyers claim to have fallen victim to the scam. News of the ring broke two weeks ago. To make the scheme run quickly, the victim said buyers were seduced by very low down-payment schemes to prompt them to buy vehicles and "lease" them to the syndicate. The woman, who calls herself Sommai, said she learned Yufuku Co had allegedly paid kickbacks to sales staff to lure buyers to join the scheme. She said the staff allowed new luxury vehicles to be sold with down payments as low as Bt55,000. Another victim, a 40-year-old female employee at an industrial estate in eastern Bangkok, also accused staff of another leasing company of colluding with Yufuku by granting easy loans with easy terms to facilitate the scheme.

HD DVD Review: Seed of Chucky
As the PR release that accompanied this release states, Seed of Chucky on HD-DVD is presented in an unrated and fully extended version. Chucky, everyone's favorite killer doll returns-and he is bringing the whole family. This time around, Chucky and his homicidal honey, Tiffany, are brought back to life by their orphan offspring, Glen. They all go Hollywood, as Chucky unleashes his own brand of murderous mayhem. The film features Jennifer Tilly playing herself as well as the voice of Tiffany and hip-hop star Redman. What can I say about this film? The violence is over the top in a cartoonish sort of way and presented with more than a dash of humor(or attempts to). The level of violence therefore does not approach the level or gore or disgust seen in a film like Hostel Part II reviewed previously.
Gym's New Surveillance Cameras Help Catch Several Crooks
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A local fitness club chain is strengthening security after thieves broke into cars in its parking lots. The problem got so bad at Gold's Gym in the Dr. Phillip's area, the owner installed more than a dozen security cameras. The cameras have already helped catch at least five crooks. While people are busy working out inside the gym, thieves were busy working their way into victim's cars. It's no sweat for the bad guys to take what they want in just seconds. "They usually pull up with their getaway car next to it, smash the window and grab something from a seat and take off down the road," explained Matt Rismiler, Gold's Gym. Rismiler said it was happening all the time at the chain's Dr. Phillips location. "But this gym is fighting back.
