| Entrepreneurs ‘wasting their time’, says report
More than a third of small business owners are not spending enough of their time helping their company grow, according to new figures. The survey, by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, found that one in three entrepreneurs are spending over 20% of their working day concentrating on things outside the core activity of their company, such as administration. Just one in eight said they organise their time so over 95% of their working day is spent purely on business. The company said the sector has ‘long been dogged with the issue', with a lack of resources often requiring business owners to spend their time organising transport, fix IT problems, and ordering and managing office supplies, rather than focusing on driving their business. Rob Ingram, the company's UK business development manager, said small businesses should consider outsourcing.

Woman guilty in U. of Washington arson
TACOMA, Wash. -- A federal jury Thursday found a woman guilty of two counts of arson for being the lookout in the 2001 burning of the University of Washington's Center for Urban Horticulture by members of the radical Earth Liberation Front. The judge declared the jury deadlocked on three other counts against Briana Waters, including the most significant count, using a destructive device during a crime of violence, which carries a mandatory minimum of 30 years in prison. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Bartlett said his office would decide within a week whether to retry her on the deadlocked counts. For the arson convictions, Waters, 32, faces 5 to 20 years in prison. Sentencing was set for May 30. She closed her eyes, bowed her head and cried as the verdict was announced.
Woman sentenced in fatal DUI
They have the choice to find another means of transportation, but they choose not to. That is intentional! I agree that alcoholism is a disease; however, it doesn't mean that you have to inflict that disease on others. I feel sorry for the victims family and especially for Mr. Erb, who not only had to suffer the injuries he sustained in the accident, but he is also the one who has to deal with seeing his friend killed. Have you ever witnessed a motorcycle accident? It isnt something that just goes away! I witnessed a friend killed in a motorcycle accident last March, and it is something that stays with you. You have vivid pictures of the accident, and keep wondering why it happened. Akaim - Fair and Just Punishment (02/27/2008 ) Unlike feloniousjoe and the other bleeding hearts, I think the sentence was deserved and fair if not a little on the light side.
In Uruguay, Old-World Charm, Old-World Prices
As trade faded, Colonia became a backwater, which helps account for its fixed-in-amber charm. Today a community of 22,000, Colonia is 150 miles northwest of Montevideo, Uruguay's capital and largest city. It is an hour from Buenos Aires by river ferry, which is how many international visitors come to town. Colonia's location makes it a perfect day-trip. Some Buenos Aires hotels will book passage on the ferry for guests -- as did the hotel my wife and I stayed at, the Buenos Aires Four Seasons, a modern hotel ensconced in a beautifully renovated 1920 mansion. A round-trip first-class ticket on a hydrofoil operated by Ferry Lineas costs 250 Argentinean pesos, or about $80; standard tickets run about $36. Candidly, getting there is not half the fun. Travelers depart Buenos Aires from an aged red-brick waterside building with broken windows, roosting pigeons and fairly sizable shrubs sprouting from the roof.

It's about time
Time spent fishing is like a mini-holiday. With all the stresses that adults, and even kids, are facing in this day and age, making the time to go fishing will pay dividends in better health, better family relations and in just plain fun. There isnt another activity that provides the same benefits as fishing: relaxation, excitement, camaraderie, communing with nature and the opportunity to teach another person about the stewardship involved in preserving the resource for future generations. The best thing about fishing is that its affordable. Once you have the gear, and you can get all you will need at a very reasonable price, all you have to do is find water. You can fish in the shadow of the CN Tower; you can fish in the little stream down the road; you can fish in the pond at the park.
