The Greens also got what they wanted when Mr Swinney announced an extra £4 million for bus operators to help keep fares down and encourage greater use of public transport.This was enough to persuade the two Green MSPs to abstain on the Budget – the vital, last piece in the jigsaw, giving the SNP the numbers necessary to get the package through.These final concessions came on top of earlier moves to get the Tories and Greens on board, including an extra £10 million for an additional 300 police officers and £4 million more to fight climate change.The Tories were derided by Labour and Liberal Democrat MSPs for helping the SNP.Tavish Scott, the Liberal Democrats' finance spokesman, described the settlement as a "Nat-Con" budget. He labelled Mr Salmond's threat to resign if the Budget had not been passed as "a landmark strop".Iain Gray, for Labour, said the Budget deal was nothing more than a "tartan Tory tango", and he also derided Mr Salmond's threats to quit."The unedifying pantomime of a First Minister threatening resignation from behind the safety of deals already done is an act of vacuous bravado which sums up his government's approach to this whole process," he saidBut Annabel Goldie, the Scottish Tory leader, was delighted with her party's achievements.
Investor group envisions thriving Macy's building
A group of Atlanta investors hopes to transform the bottom three floors of the now-vacant downtown Macy's department store into a thriving retail and restaurant space. The group, called the Davison's Downtown LLC, has the bottom three floors (including the grand street-level space complete with chandeliers) under contract. Those three floors total 185,000 square feet, which will be sold as a condo interest for $16.5 million. The sale is expected to be completed by the end of March. The group, which includes 18 investors (all from Atlanta with one exception) plans to spend up to $14 million more to revitalize the space. .
No high-rises in Sector 2-5: HC

The Judges have added:"We fail to understand as to how the plot could have been sub-divided and on that basis permission could have been given for construction by the Chandigarh administration". The case will now come up for further hearing on February 27.
Time for a Change
At the Care with Love training center, young women and men energetically move around the room. Some are getting ready to take an exam, while others gather around a trainer as she demonstrates how to bathe a patient in bed. When they finish their course, these young people will be “home health care providers," a profession that didn't exist in Egypt until Dr. Magda Iskander introduced it. Iskander, a radiologist who also has a master's degree in counseling, had been volunteering at a drug rehab center in Wadi El-Natrun where she met a lot of unemployed youth, and at the Center for Geriatric Services in Nasr City, where there was a long waiting list. She saw two needs the need for unemployed youth to find work and the need for the elderly to find someone to care for them and thought: Why not train young people to care for the sick, disabled and elderly in their own homes? When her sister was bedridden, Iskander had trained their mother's housekeeper in basic nursing skills, and it worked.
